Managing your affairs
Anybody who has ever walked into a bank or building society with more than a few hundred pounds in their account will at some point have experienced the cashier's charm offensive followed by "why don't we ask our financial advisor to give you a call?" Now you may be very happy to spend an hour or so of your time discussing ways in which your bank can relieve you of your hard earned cash by investing it in one of their products. On the other hand you might not be too impressed at the prospect of bank staff announcing to the queue behind you that you have rather a lot of money in your current account and that their financial advisor will know exactly what you should do with it.
Of course everybody has to pay serious consideration to the forward planning of his or her financial affairs, but really this should be done at your instigation when you have given proper thought to the financial goals you wish to achieve.
As accountants, we can help you develop an objective financial plan to achieve goals that you have set. Whether you are planning to work abroad for a few years or you have inherited a lump sum we can give sound unbiased advice on what action you should take. We would make it clear that we do not advise clients to invest in specific financial products.
Our approach is to liase with both you and your independent financial advisor on the merits of the investment product he or she is recommending. Where appropriate we could also discuss with you and your independent financial advisor alternative investment strategies. If you do not have an independent financial advisor, then we would be happy to arrange for introductions to be made to you. We do not accept commissions for introductions made, but charge for our services in the normal way, based on time spent.
If you would like to receive impartial advice concerning you personal finances then please contact us.
